I’m Corrado Pane, a medical student at UniCamillus in Rome. My interests lie at the intersection of medicine, surgery, and AI.
I’m particularly interested in general surgery, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, clinical research, and the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence in medicine and medical education.
I created this site to share my journey as a medical student and offer a space where curiosity can become an opportunity to learn. It is intended for students, healthcare professionals and anyone who would simply like to understand medicine a little better. I hope to make scientific knowledge more approachable and inviting, while keeping sources, context and unanswered questions in view.
Through Reading Desk, I hope to encourage people to engage with scientific literature through selected papers, context and questions worth pursuing. Each reading is an invitation to return to the original sources, consider how a study was conducted and distinguish its findings from what remains uncertain. I see this as a way to approach research with both curiosity and a critical eye.
In small doses takes a shorter approach: brief explanations about the body, prevention, the history of medicine, surgical instruments and AI. These are ideas to explore in a few minutes, written for everyone, with the hope that a small discovery will spark a new question and the desire to learn more.
HoloSoma explores the meeting of anatomy, surgery and digital innovation. Inspired by three-dimensional reconstructions and immersive technologies, it invites you to observe the body and some of its organs through a visual experience with a holographic effect: forms to rotate, details to discover and new perspectives to explore. A way to approach anatomy with curiosity and discover what makes innovation in medicine so fascinating.
And if you feel like a precision challenge, look for the mascot: a small game inspired by surgery is waiting to be discovered.
